Hello and welcome back to the COFFICE Review!
I was greeted by a friendly waitress, who was happy to find me a table next to a socket so I could charge my laptop while I worked. She told me before I sat down that they could only offer me a 1 hour time slot. This wasn't really ideal for me but I was late (as usual), so I sat down, got set up, connected to the Wi-Fi and decided I'd figure that one out later (or in an hour to be exact).
I will start by telling you, the coffee and food was delicious! I had to mute myself and turn my camera off while I scoffed down my mushroom and spinach version of Eggs Benedict. I won't lie, it was amazing. But this review is not just about the food and coffee.
I felt a bit awkward and exposed chatting to my laptop while I was sat within a couple of metres of complete strangers. It was loud with other customers and music. However, I set my AirPods to noise cancellation mode and I soon felt more comfortable. Before I knew it, my hour was up. I probably could have stayed longer, but I didn't want to overstay my welcome. So I hopped off my zoom call and finished it off on-campus.
After a short but sweet visit to Wilson St. Pantry, I'll conclude that I would work remotely from here again. The food, coffee, atmosphere and location was great. With that being said, I would probably only use this space if I had coursework to complete or some studying to do. For me, it's easy to switch off from the background noise and I feel more motivated working within a busy, social environment. However, I wouldn't recommend working from here if you prefer a quiet, secluded place to work, or if you had calls scheduled. Overall a good 'coffice', but the 1 hour time slot is a bit of an inconvenience, the tables are quite close together and the background noise would probably be a bit of a nuisance, especially if on call.
