Tibo Dennistoun

Hello and welcome to the final 'Coffice' Review! Today, I'm reviewing Tibo, a contemporary style coffee shop/cafe based on Duke Street in Dennistoun, just a 10-15 minute walk from the university and city centre.  I was recommended this coffee shop by one of my cousins who praised their great coffee, tasty food and chilled vibe. After my 15 minute walk, I saw a Tibo Takeaway sign on my right hand side with the shutters closed and instantly regretted my decision to walk all this way for a coffee. But before turning back, luckily, I looked up and to my left was the Tibo Bistro, and to my relief it was open! So keep in mind, if you're thinking of visiting, they have a takeaway shop and a sit-in cafe - if one is closed the other might be open. When I was seated I asked to be sat next to a plug for my laptop. There are limited seats with plug sockets nearby, and the ones that did have plug sockets were already taken, so unfortunately I couldn't get sat next to a plug to ...

Tibo Dennistoun

Hello and welcome to the final 'Coffice' Review!

Today, I'm reviewing Tibo, a contemporary style coffee shop/cafe based on Duke Street in Dennistoun,
just a 10-15 minute walk from the university and city centre.

There are limited seats with plug sockets nearby, and the ones that did have plug sockets were already taken, so unfortunately I couldn't get sat next to a plug to charge my laptop. This wasn't the end of the world though - I still had charge in my laptop to get some work done while I had a coffee and a catch up with my friend.

We both got a morning roll which were demolished in no time! And despite having no where to plug my laptop in, I did manage to easily connect to the Wi-Fi which provided a good connection with no problems for loading or downloading files. We were sat at a window seat where we could easily people watch which is always an entertaining activity!

Tibo wasn't too busy and the background music had an appropriate playlist, not too loud or distracting. I managed to get a good bit of work done as well as a wee bit of social interaction and some good coffee and food! Overall, Tibo is a good space for remote working if you're looking for somewhere you can grab a catch up with a friend or co-worker and get some work done at the same time - just make sure you have enough charge in your laptop! I'll definitely be back here!

Before I go, I just want to say thanks to everyone who has been following my blogs. I hope you've enjoyed reading them and maybe have decided to work remotely from one of the 'Coffices' I've reviewed!

Costa Coffee

Hello and welcome back to the COFFICE Review! Today I am reviewing a classic and well-known coffee shop – Costa. In this blog, I have chosen to review a Costa local to me as my classes are taking place online throughout COP26. However, as a big chain, there are Costa stores dotted about everywhere. If you’re looking for somewhere quick and easy to get a bit of work done, there will often be a Costa nearby.    Costa is one of the typical stores that come to mind when thinking of coffee shops. There are at least 3 Costa coffee shops in Glasgow City Centre as well as a number of Costas across the central belt but of course, services and facilities vary across stores depending on their size and location.    The positive about going to a chain coffee shop is that you kind of have an idea of what to expect. I went to Costa knowing I would have access to the internet, access to a plug socket, and, of course, access to coffee and cake. At 10am I opted for coffee and ma...

Wilson St. Pantry Merchant City

Hello and welcome back to the COFFICE Review! Today, we will be reviewing Wilson St. Pantry. Situated in Merchant City, with a contemporary style interior and relaxed atmosphere Wilson St. Pantry offers breakfast, lunch and great coffee!  I was greeted by a friendly waitress, who was happy to find me a table next to a socket so I could charge my laptop while I worked. She told me before I sat down that they could only offer me a 1 hour time slot. This wasn't really ideal for me but I was late (as usual), so I sat down, got set up, connected to the Wi-Fi and decided I'd figure that one out later (or in an hour to be exact). I will start by telling you, the coffee and food was delicious! I had to mute myself and turn my camera off while I scoffed down my mushroom and spinach version of Eggs Benedict. I won't lie, it was amazing. But this review is not just about the food and coffee. I felt a bit awkward and exposed chatting to my laptop while I was sat within a couple of met...
